The Time Has Come.

Twenty-seven years ago Rahne made her debut. Despite great exposure and being developed by some of the industry's finest creators, recent underuse, baffling exclusion, and gloomy solicits make twenty-eight seem less and less likely.

It is up to the fans to keep Wolfsbane alive.
Wolfsbane FanArt Free-for-All

I am calling upon anyone who ever liked Rahne and has a smidgeon of creativity or artistic talent to take a wee bit of time and produce something. Yes, it is time for the 2009 Wolfsbane FanArt Free-for-All, and who knows, this could be the last one while she is still an active character in the Marvel Universe. Be it a napkin sketch or a modified sticker, I challenge you to swamp me with Rahne FanArt.

NO RULES.
Pencil, ink, color, crayon, lipstick, stick in the dirt, chia pet, Chick tract, chick flick, flak jacket, cosplay, Flash, ANYTHING GOES. Unfinished is absolutely fine. You like glitter glue? Use glitter glue. Manga zombie rap cowgirl Rahne sound sensible to you? Send it in. You perceive no redundancy at all in word pairings like "Dark Wolverine?" Design a logo for "Wolfy Wolfsbane." No habla Ingles? Lupina es bueno, mi corazones. Quality is great, but the time is right for quantity. This is the time to swallow your pride and show us your work even if it is still in progress!

NO MAULINGS.
Everyone's a winner, except for artists who send nothing! If you send it, I will post it, period.

The Future's Uncertain and the End is Always Near

Disney has bought Marvel for 4 billion dollars.

http://www.newsarama.com/comics/090831-disney-acquire-marvel.html

Man, had I known...had I only known that they were selling...I'd've offered like three -- no, FOUR hundred dollars for Rahne.

Necrosha

Nrama: There are quite a few mutants being brought into the mix here; are there any foreseeable casualties? If so, did you guys have to draw straws to see who had to severely injure or kill of a cast member?

Yost: Oh, there's plenty of death and misery to go around. Craig and I are sharers. But X-Force isn't getting out of this unscathed, that's for certain. Wolfsbane may be rejoining the team at a really, really bad time.

Back for More Punishment

YOST: Big surprises in the months ahead, and everything changes by the end of the next arc, the one after 'Not Forgotten.' But before that, the team is reunited as Wolfsbane returns.

NRAMA: Rahne is going to be returning to the group—how has she changed now that she has love in her life?

YOST: I think by the time she gets back, she's in a different place. Rahne is a strong character that's gone through a lot. But it takes more to keep her down. Luckily, we've got more.

Peter David Interview @ CBR

Via ComicBookResources.com:

CBR: Did you always plan for Rahne Sinclair, Wolfsbane, to leave “X-Factor” or was that largely due in part to the forming of the new title “X-Force?”

Peter David: I never planned for that. I thought she was going to be in both “X-Force” and “X-Factor.” That, like “Mission: Impossible,” she’d be called in to work with X-Force when they needed her but otherwise she’d still be with X-Factor. I didn’t know we were losing her until I was told I had to write her out of the book. I guess I just didn’t understand the concept of “X-Force” requiring that she be exclusive to that book. I still miss her.

Sooner Than You Think

From an interview with Zeb Wells at ComicBookResources.com :

We want to have Rahne peek in on her friends as soon as possible, and anyone who follows the great “X-Force” knows they have a lot to talk about. Our path and X-Force’s may be crossing sooner than you think.

Uncertainty Confirmed or Something :\

Via comicbookresources:

Marvel Editor Nick Lowe responds to fan emails.

Once Wolfsbane resolves her problems over in “X-Force,” will she ever show up in the new “New Mutants” series?
Zeb and I really love Wolfsbane, so I hope she gets her problems resolved soon. But, knowing Chris and Craig, I just hope she’s alive when they’re done with her.

Who?

Snipped from the solicit for X-Force #13: "Meanwhile, Wolfsbane is still dealing with the return of (character censored by Marvel),"

Magik's return is hardly a secret anymore is it? Unless it's Hrimhari, which is also not a secret.

More Bret Blevins Art

Bret Blevins put more of his original works up at ebay. Again, no New Mutants stuff but there is a cover inked by the great Terry Austin.

Sweet and Sour

It's official. New Mutants Reunion.

Interview with writer Zeb Wells here, in which Wells says:
"Wolfsbane won’t be playing a large role in New Mutants, as she’s being used (and used incredibly well) by Craig Kyle and Chris Yost in "X-Force." If she ever becomes available we’ll see how she fits into the team, but I’ll admit that I’m in no hurry to see that happen."

New Mutants Saga, Rumorpedia, & Found Image

By now you likely have seen the announcement for New Mutants Saga. If not, look here: http://www.marvel.com/catalog/?id=11465 . What concerns me though is that "April 1" release date, if you know what I mean.

Wikipedia claims it'll be an ongoing series, but whether that's insight or speculation is anyone's guess. Read further and you'll see what sounds way too good to be true -- a New Mutants movie, allegedly in pre-production.

Lastly, a found image, I honestly can't remember where I got it. If it's not someone just fooling around, then I hope they adjust the style about 15 years back.

Rahnimaniacs and The Coming Mess(iah War)

Recently I invited several peeps to become Rahnimaniacs -- in other words they can post here if they like. So please one of you wake me if something cool happens because X-Force just ain't taking me there. It is only a matter of time before they need another dead X-Man to keep the kids interested. Heck, maybe she'd be better off. I'd speculate that Wolfsbane will still be around as of X-Force #14, but the cover is so black, who can tell if it is her crouching over there?

You know. Black and all dark-like, to import drama and tension.

The return of Stryfe, an upcoming crossover with Cable...and "the fate of an entire species" in the balance. LOL Whatever.
